Eagle House enjoys a rich Arts programme that allows children to get involved in areas such as drama, music, dance, visual arts, design and creative writing.
From the early days in Nursery where dance and drama begin, to the Pre-Prep where performance and the spoken word, along with musical concerts, are enjoyed; the Arts run throughout all the school.
In the Prep School most children are involved in our vibrant Music programme and choirs, ensembles, orchestras and soloists all play and perform in an array of concerts both small and large. Our senior choir – The Chamber Chapel Choir or Cha Cha Ch regularly perform and recently toured both France and Belgium. The Junior Choir, made up of all Years 3, 4 and 5, regularly perform.
Art is not only a curriculum subject but also popular in activity time and the children get the opportunity to create many different pieces, from pottery sculptures to acrylic paintings and stop animations.
Design is a popular option and in the new purpose built design centre curriculum lessons are taught but children can also pursue projects in design club. Food Technology also operates activities and children often prepare dishes for home or even their own lunches.
Dance is a popular activity and both boys and girls get involved. There are specific clubs for ballet, modern and street as well as a physical theatre option for boys.
Drama is a very important part of Eagle House. Several productions are mounted each year for all age groups. Every child has the opportunity to perform. The main musical for Years 5 and above takes place at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell at The Wilde Theatre and the Years 3 & 4 get to perform a show in the Summer term. Talent shows, smaller studio productions and assemblies make for a hugely diverse and dynamic drama programme.
The Arts are central to every child’s Eagle House experience and we are very proud of all that they achieve.
