History is a subject that is fun to learn. To this end visits to various historical sites and museums are a key part to exploring this subject and helping to understand the events that have shaped the world in which we live.
At Eagle House we allow the pupils to explore their past by using a variety of mediums. We want them to become independent thinkers and to explore what other historians, both past and present, have to say, before making up their own mind about the event under investigation. We experience lively debate and discussion in the classroom so that all the pupils have the opportunity to voice their own thoughts and ideas.
In addition to this we invite visiting groups to come in and put on performances in order to bring history to life. The use of drama in the classroom also brings the subject alive and makes learning fun. The use of ICT is an important tool for the pupils so they can carry out research and show where their investigations have led them.
